Loome Release Notes - October 21st, 2025

Loome Platform Update

What’s New

This release introduces the new Tasks feature in Loome Portal, a brand-new way to manage work, investigate issues, and handle general requests across your assets and activities. We’ve also delivered major enhancements with the new Loome Portal Custom Apps feature, giving developers the power to host their own assets directly within the platform.

Release Window

The update window depends on your environment:

  • AU Environment Release - Tuesday 21st, 1:00 PM / 2:00 AM UTC
  • US Environment Release - Monday 20th, 6:30 PM / 10:30 PM UTC

What do you need to do?

For most users, no action is required during the update window.

  • Loome Integrate Users: If you have jobs scheduled to run over the update window, please check that they’ve finished correctly afterward. If not, simply restart them.
  • Optional Agent Update: To take advantage of all the new features, improvements, and fixes across all modules, we strongly recommend updating your Loome Agent after the release window.

Should you need any assistance, our support team is ready to help at support@loomesoftware.com.

Release Impact

This release requires an update to the core Loome service (which powers your Loome Monitor, Loome Assist, Loome Integrate, and Loome Portal modules) and the Loome Agent.

We expect the update to take no more than 10 minutes. During this time, we don’t anticipate any interruptions to running Loome Integrate jobs. However, you might experience a brief period where you’re unable to start new activities or access your Loome modules.

Service Updates

Loome Portal: Tasks

We’ve launched Tasks, a new work management feature in Loome Portal. This functionality is designed to help your teams move beyond passive monitoring and into proactive action and collaboration, all within the Loome environment.

Tasks allows you to operationalize your workflows, enabling you to:

  • Action Anything, Anywhere: Raise a task directly against any asset or activity you see in the catalogue—from a report to a data migration job—to assign responsibility and track resolution.
  • Streamline Issue Investigation: Use tasks to immediately investigate issues, such as long-running or failed job executions, ensuring critical problems are quickly documented and addressed.
  • Manage General Requests: Create stand-alone tasks for general requests not tied to a specific asset, like “Request a new report for the Sales team” or “Review security permissions.”
  • Drive Accountability: Leverage a full set of fields, including tags, priority, and due dates, to properly categorize and scope the work.
  • Collaborate Seamlessly: Engage in real-time collaboration using discussions and assign tasks to individual users to clearly define ownership.
  • Stay Informed: Receive In-App notifications instantly to notify you when you have tasks requiring action, along with periodic Summary emails of everything requiring your attention.

Tasks will become the target of automated policies within Loome Portal and Rule output within Loome Monitor in a future update, integrating work management directly into your governance strategy.

Loome Portal: Custom Apps

Loome Portal currently centralizes assets from pre-defined connectors, enabling users to search the catalogue, view metadata, and interact via embedded experiences. With the new Custom Apps feature, we are expanding the platform to let you host your own assets, transforming Loome Portal into a central hub for all organizational data and applications.

This feature provides developers with a full suite of tools to integrate and manage proprietary assets:

  • New API for Custom App Lifecycle Management: Use the dedicated API to manage the full creation, deployment, and updating of your custom applications directly in Loome Portal.
  • Custom Entity Types and Attributes: Define your own data models by creating custom Entity Types and Attributes—allowing you to categorize, describe, and manage your assets with relevant metadata.
  • Seamless Asset Staging: Easily stage large volumes of your assets into the Loome Portal catalogue.
  • Embedded User Experience (UX): Build and utilize your own embedding libraries to provide an application-like experience directly within Loome Portal, offering rich, interactive views of your custom assets.
  • Secure API Integration: Optionally use the powerful API Requests feature to make secure, backend calls to your own APIs, further extending the functionality and interaction capabilities of your custom assets.
