Consent approval required
This article addresses an issue where users are unable to log in to the Loome platform due to a Microsoft Entra ID “Approval required” prompt. This typically occurs in organizations with strict Microsoft Entra ID policies that prevent users from granting consent to new applications without an administrator’s explicit approval.
The Issue
When attempting to sign in to Loome, users may encounter a screen from Microsoft Entra ID stating “Approval required” or indicating that an administrator needs to grant permission. This happens because the Loome application, requires certain permissions, but your organization’s Microsoft Entra ID settings may be configured to “Do not allow user consent.”
What a Standard User Needs to Do
If you see the “Approval required” screen:
- Request Approval: Look for and click the “Request approval” button or link on the Microsoft Entra ID prompt.
- Contact Your IT Administrator: After requesting approval, please reach out to your organization’s IT administrator or help desk. Inform them that you need their approval to access the Loome application, you can provide them a link to this document.
What a Microsoft Entra ID Administrator Needs to Do
If you are a Microsoft Entra ID administrator for your organization and users are reporting this issue, you need to grant administrative consent for the Loome application.
To grant consent:
- Access Enterprise Applications:
- Sign in to the Azure portal.
- Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID > Enterprise applications.
- Find the Loome Application:
- In the Enterprise applications blade, you may need to search for the Loome application by its name.
- Alternatively, you can use the Application ID to locate it:
- For the US environment:

- Grant Admin Consent:
- Once you’ve found the “Loome” application, click on it.
- In the application’s overview, navigate to Permissions or Security (the exact location might vary slightly with Azure portal updates).
- Find the option to “Grant admin consent for [Your Organization Name]” or a similar button.
- Review the permissions requested by the application and then click Accept.
Granting administrative consent ensures that all users in your organization can sign in to Loome without encountering individual consent prompts.
